]]>Depends, does Mark know enough about computers to do his own repairs? If so then it becomes a moot point (or at the very least he could just take the HDD out and not let them have it so that it can’t get re-formatted, so long as the new motherboard is compatible with the same make and model of CPU the old install should run just fine).
]]>Hopefully you backed up all that was on the drive somehow? OEM’s are notorious for formatting hard drives as SOP for warranty repairs.
]]>First time for me. There was an issue with the mother board a couple of years ago, but it went away when I reinstalled Windows, so I thought maybe it wasn’t the hardware after all.
Anyhow, the order is now placed and I have an estimated arrival date of Sept 28. I’m hoping it doesn’t take nearly that long. You my be seeing more of the gremlin.
