Whoops, miscounted the panels. I meant Panel 6.

He grew up on a farm and often browses the vegetation. Insects are inevitable.

I love Joel’s line in the last panel; implying he’s “eaten a bug” multiple times in the past! ๐Ÿ™‚

I also like how the colors in general seem to have brightened just a bit now that he’s out of his guest-room/cell and talking with someone who seems friendly.

Hmm.. Decisions, decisions… Should I talk more about this strip’s characters, or will that leave me with nothing to say for the next strip? Or, will I just plain wear out my welcome? ๐Ÿ™‚ Oh well; go for it!

I like Sweetie-pie’s eyes in the first panel; nice legs too. ๐Ÿ™‚ Joel looks good in panel five. It’s like he’s telling ghost stories to kids around a campfire. ๐Ÿ™‚ All posing looks good in panel six. Works well with the dialog and timing too.

Dangit! Meant to ask you, Mark…
Did you figure out facial expressions and posing on your own? Or did you find some good reading to learn from? You’re doing really well with these!

Thanks. I have taken lessons off and on – about two years studying concept art and lots of one-off classes. But even with that you need to put in a lot of self study and practice. Studying the work of other artists helps a lot too.

So I suppose I’ve done a little bit of everything. I still have a long way to go before my work starts looking professional, but do I feel it has improved a lot.
