Interesting that the window shutter opens INward.
Y’know, Mark; I’ve quite gotten used to and now rather like your comicing simplifications. I like looking at them, and that horse and cart in the first panel are quite nicely done!
I’ve seen a few windows with that style latch in older buildings – especially ones high off the floor so that you can open and shut them with a pole. Thought I’d try one out here.
Okay; makes sense up high. The ones I’ve seen like that, wooden shutter hinged at top with wooden pole pushing the bottom of the shutter OUTwards, were on windows at ‘normal’ heights from the floor. Just walk up to it, push the shutter open with your hands, and stick the wooden prop-rod in place.
