Dog fight
Doing something new with the shading here. Also a bit of a rush job.

“Yuck! Tastes like dirt!” 🙂
In some places I like the new shading and in others I don’t. What do -you- think of it?
Well, it does give you sharper lines and makes it easier to control the form. It makes it easier to make highlights but does restrict you to large regions.
I was trying it in response to a class I was taking. It is a popular technique used in a lot of TV shows, but I think I need a lot more practice.
Nice. Wish I could afford some basic art classes. You’re doing great with yours! 🙂
I can see where this would work well with some tv shows. Everything moving around along with the viewers’ attention points would smooth the shading areas out in their minds. I think it can be useful in still comics too, but to a much more limited extent. Certainly worth a try!
