Dang; you move around a lot! Are you related to Joel?? 🙂 I’ll be waiting patiently for your next updates too. Good luck with everything! Hopefully that lock will be the worst of your problems. (…and the UHaul guys owe you! At the very least you should get a week’s free storage. :-))
Well, I do move around a lot so I have some idea what he’s going through. Anyhow, I got the locker issue resolved and everything moved in to my new place. And I’ve finally got my internet connection back. Still plenty of sorting and shelving to do.

Great variety and execution of expressions in that third panel, Mark! And I’m liking Ruby as a person for this story.
I like your background bushes/trees. I’d like to see a version with the light/dark colors reversed though. (psst! Someone’s missing an arm badge in the first panel. ;-))

And after one long conversation they call Ruby on ‘cheating’? We need more info on Ruby for sure if she is to become more of a fixture in this one but it’s looking good.
She does stand out being the only one with earrings. At the risk of sounding cliché if she were the daughter of a high ranking member of the shrine expected to follow in their hoofprints but clearly having interests outside the shrine would make for some interesting backstory. Let’s face it cliché still makes for a good story. =)

To me the background shading is more consistent with a lower level of ambient light such as at dawn or dusk, they still look good to be sure.
I do like the expressions on all the girls, nothing like some good gossip between shrine maidens. 😉
Over all excellent progress, will be waiting for the next one!!
