Um, Joel? Uhh… Exactly -how- do you know your way is right and theirs is wrong? And, if Ninian is a goddess looking after -all- her people, isn’t it possible that there is more than one “right” way that she will look on with approval?
Funny thing with religious beliefs is they usually exclude all other forms of belief. The exclusion can range from tolerance to bloodthirsty hostility. I wonder where Joel falls and more importantly where does the village fall.
April, get out of there before the town finds you, assumes you put Joel up to take the idol and turns on the both of you. This plot line can go to a very dark place… I wonder how this will unfold.
