Reading between the lines
Tried something new here. Tried to minimize the amount of drawing I did to the sketch layer to try and make the ink layer more ‘lively’.

I think I see what you mean by making things more lively. Looks good! Now, did it have any impact of the time it takes to make the page?
In the end, not really. Because comic strip panels are really story illustrations, you need to have characters doing specific things in specific ways and make sure they’re visible. It’s a lot more constraining than just doodling, so you need more detailed planning. Anyhow, it was worth a shot.
